For a brief moment, the connection between seeing and seen feels timeless.
Intuition has many faces. It shows up as goosebumps (‘truthbumps’), a gut feeling, or a hazy sense of “yes, that!”. Sometimes it’s subtle, needing me to quiet the mind and listen deeply. Sometimes it comes howling, screaming and kicking into my life without warning. Whatever the shape or flavor, it’s there and it’s got my back.
All analog double exposures in this selection were shot intuitively. I did not keep track of what I shot when and where. Once exposed for the first time, the film rolls would wait in the fridge for their second adventure, often for several months.
What every picture has in common is how it was married in-camera. I felt the “yes this, now!” impulse and pressed the shutter. I truly love this moment. It anchors me in my body, sharpens my perception, and lets everything else fade away.
