These portraits emerged from a continuous practice of double exposing 35mm film. In most cases, I knew that I had photographed a person on the first layer and so added nature or urban structure on the second. Apart from that, there was no calculation of the exact in-camera merging. Intuition and chance added their spice to the endeavor, while experimentation, repetition, and patience led to the final results.
